Officers and Duties:
An administrative Board consisting of at least seven members will lead the Sanford Seminole Art Association (SSAA). The five members of the Administrative Board will:
1.) Lead the meetings.
2.) Obtain the program presenters. Members are encouraged to suggest and/or provide programs of interest. An honorarium is given to non-members who present programs to cover their expenses.
3.) Keep records of all funds and financial business of the Sanford Seminole Art Association.
4.) Record minutes and attendance for all meetings.
5.) Open the meetings with a moment of silence and the reciting of the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance.
6.) Oversee the By-Laws of the Sanford Seminole Art Association.
The Administrative Board will be elected at the April meeting and installed in May for a term of one year. They may be re-elected. The Board will meet when and as needed. There may be an Annual Member Show when and as decided by the membership. The Administrative Board will decide all regulations, prizes and judges for the Annual Member Show.
The Sanford Seminole Art Association will not be affiliated with any other organizations except when such affiliation is approved by the membership. In 2002, members voted to join the Seminole Cultural Arts Council. Members are also encouraged to cooperate individually with other similar organizations.
Responsibilities of Committees:
Calling Committee Contacts assigned members to remind them about meetings via email or telephone.
Care & Concern Keeps members informed about illnesses or other situations. Sends cards, when appropriate, to members and their families.
Historian Maintains records, photos and information about the SSAA and its activities.
Annual Show Appoints, coordinates and oversees Annual Show subcommittees chaired by Board Members.
Holiday Luncheon Selects the location and handles the costs pf the December meeting.
All SSAA members are asked to serve on at least one of the Standing Committees. All Administrative Board members and Committee Chairs will report to the chairman, who is ultimately responsible for all activites, projects and procedures. The Chairman, in turn, will communicate with, and consult, the Board regarding any special projects and activities that may present themselves.
