About Us
Sanford Seminole Art Association (SSAA) is one of the oldest cultural organizations in Seminole County. We were first organized in 1959 and have enjoyed 53 years of supporting and encouraging local artists and art education through demonstrations, workshops and training.
At our meetings we encourage our members to share their experience and promote their artwork. We also have a calendar full of exciting activities, member demonstrations and invited artists to facilitate classes and workshops. During the year we usually have a couple of plein air group outings, a visit to capture the fun and gorgeous animals at our favorite, the Central Florida Zoo in Sanford, and of course our Holiday Luncheon!
Every year, at the end of February, we celebrate our artwork with our Annual Member Show. Members are encouraged to exhibit their work and the community is invited to our reception and awards ceremony. We have great fun working together for this exhibition.
We close out our membership year in June with a group exhibition and reception at the Casselberry Art House.
Then, in September, after a long, hot summer we are ready to go again!
We invite you to visit us and meet our artists and members. Our regular meetings are at 1:00 p.m. at Seminole Community Church on the 4th Saturday of the month from September to May. The Seminole Community Church is located at 5070 Orange Boulevard, Sanford, Fl. (Click here for Map)
Please review SSAA Events Calendar to find out what we are up to and where you can find us. Or, if you would like to join us at one of our monthly meetings, check out our Meeting Calendar for scheduled speakers, art demos, and other fun activities.
If you would like to become a member please go to the Membership Form tab. You can mail the application or bring it to one of our monthly meetings.
We look forward to meeting you! SSAA
